ABOUT

Kate Campbell is a professional biomedical communicator in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Medical and science topics are often difficult to understand, communicate and teach. Using traditional, digital and interactive media, Kate Campbell creates informed and specialized visualizations. Bridging the two fields of science and art, Biomedical Communications is a small and specialized profession with only four accredited Master of Science programs in North America. Completing the only program of its kind in Canada at the University of Toronto, Kate graduated with distinction at the top of her class. For the past five years she has had the privilege of working on several large projects, including the completion of over 35 illustrations for the Association of Ontario Midwives’ Emergency Skills Workshop Manual, launching and continued development of Canadian Diabetes Association's clinical practice guidelines site (guidelines.diabetes.ca) as the senior software developer for USquareSoft, and the design, scripting and illustration of the unique Great Bear Region web-feature for WWF-Canada (previously on exhibit at the UBC Beaty Museum and at Science World in Vancouver).
